From [info]ohcrapimonfire:

Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.

Wait, What's Your Rush, What's Your Hurry

I feel like I've been locked up tight
I can't get no satisfaction
He drowns in his dreams
Don't you want me baby

I washed all my deep thoughts inside
Never look back, we said
I cannot take this anymore
The seaweed is always greener

Tell his reverence your story
I'm just a girl with a crush on you
We're much too young and life's so big
These are my friends, see how they glisten

Here upon these stones we will build our barricade
Touch my skin and tell me what you're thinking
I know I'm not the only flower you see
Some folks think of convents as the places where we pray

Now is the month of Maying
I wanna be the very best
You have many houses
Don't be a brontosaurus

----

It starts out pretty emo, but rapidly descends into the realm of nonsensicality. The end and title in particular make me giggle.

I haven't written in here for over a month.. not that I hate you, dear livejournal, I just do not have time to think about you all the time. My apologies.

Anyway, life is pretty crazy. I should be enjoying one of my few nights off and go to bed, so I'll make this quick. I'm balancing school (actually going to classes this year, how novel), upwards of 45 hours a week at two jobs, and a long distance relationship, meaning I am almost always tired. Keeping busy is good for me, though, so I won't complain too much about all the classes and work, plus the money is pretty good. I just wish for a little more free time to see my friends, but c'est la vie...

I'm working on some pretty big (yet tentative) changes in my life, so I always am finding myself planning out my possible futures. It's exciting and pretty scary... my life could potentially be very different in a few short months.

My favorite season of the year is fast approaching, and I got an air freshener ("Mistletoe") that smells like Christmas trees. It makes me happy. I'm not a religious person, but I absolutely love the holiday season and everything that comes along with it. I'm even more excited now that I have Nick to share it with. I'm very merry about this.

I have a headache and bed is beckoning, so I am signing out. Bye!

Am I alone in thinking that it's kind of sad that the #1 most viewed news story on CNN is "Bush to get routine medical exam"?

In other news, life is pretty great right now.

Boston is a spiteful town, making the days spent waiting to leave go very slowly, and then only on the eve of my departure does it give me something truly wonderful.

See you in September, Boston.

What I love about this little leaning mark
is how it divides
without divisiveness. The left
or bottom side prying that choice up or out,
the right or top side pressing down upon
its choice: either/or,
his/her. Sometimes called a slash (too harsh), a slant
(a little dizzy, but the Dickinson association
nice: "Tell all the Truth but tell it slant-"), solidus (sounding
too much like a Roman legionnaire
of many campaigns),
or a separatrix (reminding one of a sexual
variant). No, I like virgule. I like the word
and I like the function: "Whichever is appropriate
may be chosen to complete the sense."
There is something democratic
about that, grown-up; a long
and slender walking stick set against the house.
Virgule: it feels good in your mouth.
Virgule: its foot on backwards, trochaic, that's OK, American.
Virgule: you could name your son that,
or your daughter Virgula. I'm sorry now
I didn't think to give my daughter such a name
though I doubt that she and/or
her mother would share that thought.

Hey livejournal, it's been a long time. Over a month.

School is almost over. I cannot wait to not live here anymore. I have big plans for the summer (Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, Vermont?), and I plan on live those four months to the fullest.

As much as I try, I really can't think of anything to write. The "problems" in my life are generally too private, and no one really wants to hear about that, or anything else, anyway.

But, Hot Fuzz was hilarious. See it.

This weekend was pretty nice. I don't usually do this, but I will break it down.

Friday night we got chinese, and started to watch John Tucker Must Die. Saturday I got up and laid around, then showered and headed to CVS with Geneva to pick myself up some DayQuil. Then it was Geneva's birthday dinner at a nice restaurant called Papa Razzi. I had some good ravioli, although it was pretty expensive. After that, we went back to Geneva's room and I watched as they played drinking games.

This morning I woke up and showered, ate brunch with Geneva and Sneha, and left for Tufts. Davis Square (the closest T stop to Tufts) is very quaint and nice.. very different from around here. Rob picked me up and showed me around Tufts. It's very hilly and we almost fell multiple times on the ice. Their dorms seem nice too, but the rooms are maybe even a little smaller than here. We headed back to Harvard Square and had a lackluster lunch at Bertucci's... poor service, and we were at the tiniest table closest to the door. I had ravioli again, but it wasn't nearly as good. We were going to go to Tealuxe to get some bubble tea, but decided against it. I was going to head back to Tufts, but Rob had somewhere to be soon after that, so instead I just went back to BU. Overall it went better than last week's date, which is good. Geneva and I had a nice, cheap dinner at the Beijing Cafe, and then we watched The Land Before Time with her floormate. I fell asleep. :(

Now I am sitting here procrastinating, waiting, and feeling pretty sick... I don't want the week to start. :(

In other news, this week has been very up and down... right now is definitely an up. But seriously, I'd love life so much more if writing weren't in the way. :(

Well.

This was a very eventful weekend...and one that has left me sick, confused, and very unsure of myself (which sums to moody).

I want to go home. :(

Just a few things to mention:

a. I am liking my job more and more. My boss likes and respects me, and! she's bringing me a cake for my birthday, since I'm working, and we're having a party!

b. Today at work I was rereading Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" for my writing class. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, the increasingly loud beating of a heart plays a central role. I work in the College of Fine Arts at my school, and there are usually musical groups rehearsing all over the building. While I was reading, a group of percussionists started playing something in the room above my office.. It began softly and steadily, much like a... heartbeat. It got louder and louder as I read the story. It completely freaked me out. Freaked me out.

A lot of things have happened in the past few days... some scary things, to me.

Also, I think I had one of my best nights of sleep ever, last night. I went to bed around 3:30am and woke up at 9:15am. I felt so rested that I immediately panicked and thought I had slept through all my classes... very bizarre. Also, it's almost 4:30am and I don't feel tired yet. Good thing, as physics homework is consuming my life.
